Daisy's Dream Fundraiser with M&S; Reading
Daisy's Dream are delighted to be fundraising at Marks and Spencer in Reading.
A parent of a child under eighteen dies every 22 minutes in the UK. This equates to more than 100 children a day being bereaved of a parent.
1 in 29 five - sixteen year olds have been bereaved of a parent or sibling - that's a child in every average sized class.
Daisy's Dream is a professional support service, working predominately in Berkshire, which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement.
Research shows that, without the opportunity to express and explore their grief, bereaved children and young people may be at risk of future health, social, and educational difficulties and disadvantages. This is in addition to the impact of the bereavement on their emotional health and well-being.
Our team of professionally qualified Family Workers enable children to adapt to their changing situation by offering them the chance to access support and information which addresses their needs and concerns.
Given time and support, we believe that children and young people can learn to cope with the changing dynamics of their life and ultimately move forwards in a positive way.
Please help us support more local families.
